On reading Saturday's report on cycling's Tour ta' Malta next month, I was very pleased with the prospect that David Stacey, an Australian of Maltese descent, will be taking part in this year's race.
I am certain that the exposure to European competition will be very beneficial to Stacey's future.
I was also delighted to read of the award recognising Joe Lanfranco's service to the sport along the years.
As an ex-cyclist and club committee member, I always found Lanfranco very helpful and always willing to assist and give advice to whoever sought it.
On behalf of the 1963 Mediterranean Games time-trial team, who all happen to be living in Sydney, and still keeping in touch after 42 years, I would like to congratulate "Josie" for his award and the sterling contribution to cycling in Malta.
