Education Minister Louis Galea told Labour MP Carmelo Abela yesterday that 737 state sixth form students had Lm14,159 deducted from their stipend because of absenteeism in the last scholastic year.

Another Lm12,423 were deducted from the stipend of 1,159 MCAST students, Lm173 from that of 76 church sixth form students and Lm87 from that of 29 private sixth form students.
