Struggling Serie A side Fiorentina have suffered another setback in their battle against relegation with Bulgarian striker Valeri Bojinov ruled out for at least a month with a thigh strain.

Fiorentina said that Bojinov, who joined the club last month from Lecce for a reported 13 million euros, would need three to four weeks of rehabilitation before he could begin full training again.

The Florence club, who returned to the top flight this season, are 16th in the 20-team Serie A.

Bojinov has scored 12 goals in 24 games so far this season, 11 of them for Lecce before he became Dino Zoff's first major signing for Fiorentina.
