Over 200 delegates from 42 countries are attending the first joint medical and pharmaceutical symposium, organised by the Maltese medical and pharmaceutical students' organisations along with their European and international counterparts.
The symposium started on Monday at the Sol Suncrest and runs until Saturday.
John Rizzo Naudi, Chancellor of the University of Malta and chairman of the Institute of Health Care, opened the symposium and commended the students for their initiative.
President Emeritus Censu Tabone gave a brief description of the way health care has evolved over the years.
The conference is focusing on interdisciplinary teams with a patient-centred approach to health care.
Its aim is to inspire future health care professionals, from pharmacy, medicine and nursing, to be activists and advocates for a vision of worldwide cooperation of healthcare professions in different disciplines for the benefit of patients.
