Christine Tellus, who was the best student in the hotel operations course run by the Institute for Tourism Studies, was the recipient of this year's Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association Trophy during graduation day at the ITS.

Miss Tellus was among 69 students who graduated at diploma level earlier this month.

MHRA president Justin Zammit Tabona congratulated Ms Tellus and said it was important for the industry to have well-trained personnel to ensure the highest quality of standards in all properties.

Mr Zammit Tabona sits on the board of governors of the ITS.
