A truckful of food was collected by the Verdala International School for the Dar Sagra Familja orphanage in Zabbar.

School headmaster Adam Pleasance said more than 3,500 individual items were collected, which translated into an average of 16.44 items collected by each student.

The headmaster said the highest items per capita were collected by the pre-kindergarten class, who collected an average of 60 items each.
