How many times have you told your spouse, a close friend or a colleague "I'm sorry! I totally forgot!"? Or were disrupted in an important meeting or lesson? Ever forgot to send an urgent or important SMS just because you were occupied elsewhere?
3Squared, a Young Enterprise company, has come up with a solution so that you can say goodbye to those guilty feelings. Called "Send Me Later", the solution is a simple mobile phone application software which allows the user to enter a particular SMS, set a date and/or time for such an SMS to be sent and on the scheduled date and/or time the user simply has to confirm the message and this will be sent.
Send Me Later comes in English, French, Italian, Spanish and even in Maltese. Users can apply any time zone changes so that the mobile handset's time is set to their country's time zone.
Other facilities included applying changes to scheduled messages, forwarding messages and personalisation of the service.
This application works on handsets that have JAVA MIDP 2.0/2.1. Users can check on the company's website whether it works on their handset.
3Squared is made of nine students attending St Aloysius' College Sixth Form. It is taking part in the Junior Achievement Young Enterprise Programme, a local incentive that allows tertiary education students to form their own company, come up with a product and take care of its operation throughout a period of nine months.
