Fifty children from State, Church and independent schools recently took part in The Writing Stars, a two-day series of creative writing workshops organised by the Education Ministry’s National Literacy Agency.
The workshops were delivered by British authors Ian Bland and Julia Golding as well as Maltese authors Clare Azzopardi, Charles Casha, Carmel Cauchi, Ivan De Battista, Rita Grech, Rita Saliba, Natasha Turner and Trevor Zahra.
The event, which was open to 12-year-old students who had excelled in the writing component of their English and Maltese annual examinations last June, formed part of an ongoing programme by the literacy agency to promote creative writing.
