A total of Lm1,400 were collected by the students at St Paul's Bay Primary School during a fund raising marathon in aid of animal sanctuaries held as part of the school's Animal Awareness Week.

During the week special morning assemblies were organised which included songs, prayers, dances and short sketches about different animals.

The students were also encouraged to exhibit works relating to animals on the several notice boards around the school.

Representatives from Island Sanctuary, National Cat Society (Tomasina Cattery), Noah's Ark and Abandoned Animals Association were presented with cheques by Salvina Muscat, head of school.
