Elaine Vella was recently elected president of the Malta University Sports Club at the MUSC's 83rd annual general meeting.
The other members of the executive committee are secretary general Aldrin Seychell, director of finance Kay Vanhear, director of education Jeanette Muscat, director of AFC Jurgen Bonavia, PRO Lara Tedesco, international officer Eman Pulis, director of sports Matthew Said, and graphics designer Matthew Schembri.
During a scholastic year, MUSC organises a number of sports activities for students such as the November sports festival on campus, which includes various different sports including abseiling, tai chi, baseball, football, basketball, and scuba diving, as well as a carnival weekend in Gozo and an inter-faculty football tournament.
The MUSC offers cheaper rates for students to use the Aquatic and Fitness Centre's facilities. It also offers optional credits to students studying at the University of Malta. As from this year, MUSC has joined the Degree Plus scheme so that students' contribution towards sports can be recognised on their graduation certificate.
