The Westin Dragonara Resort recently hosted 15- to 16-year-old students to raise awareness about the hospitality industry and simultaneously entice them to take up a career within the industry.

The students were given information regarding career opportunities available in tourism, but they were also told about the less rosy side of the work, which includes long hours and work at weekends and public holidays.

The students came from five secondary schools - Margaret Mortimer Girls Junior Lyceum, Sir Adrian Dingli Girls Junior Lyceum, Dun Karm Psaila Boys Secondary, St Dorothy's and Vincenzo Boys Secondary School.

In the latter three, the human resources department of the Westin Dragonara Resort was working in collaboration with the Malta Tourism Authority.
