What do you make of the censorship controversy?

"The question that should be asked is how should society interpret art? Censorship in theatre should be abolished. For example, I don't accept that Stitching should be banned just because the censorship board decides so. Age classification should be introduced instead. People should be mature enough to watch realist drama in theatres.

"With regards literature, this may feature a disclaimer that it contains obscenities and vulgar language.

"Art should not be understood literally. In art, everything is complex." Karl Littlejohn

"I think it's important to talk about the subject, as censorship means closing minds from other views and opinions. The subject has arisen, and it won't go away quickly."Chris Reiff

"I believe adults are capable of reaching their own decisions and conclusions. Every artist must be free to express his ideas. Then it's up to viewers to decide on how to use the material produced."Marilena Farrugia

Do you agree with the removal of the cigarette machine from the canteen?

"I agree with the removal of the cigarette machine from the canteen. Cigarettes are proven to be a health hazard, and health must be promoted at University.

"Students must learn ways to improve their lifestyle in a healthy manner. Besides not smoking, this includes their diet, exercise regime and stress management.

"I believe there should be more health awareness programmes on campus and more healthy food introduced in the canteen."Karl Littlejohn

"I don't think that it matters whether the machine was removed or not. If it was removed for health and safety reasons, it failed, because students can buy cigarettes elsewhere." Chris Reiff

"The University is right not to encourage smoking by providing a cigarette machine on campus. But I don't think this will affect students as cigarette machines can be found everywhere."Marilena Farrugia
