Preparations for the Valletta migration summit stepped up a gear this afternoon with rehearsals of part of the inauguration ceremony at the newly-revamped Castille Square.

The summit will formally start at the Auberge de Castille on Wednesday afternoon before moving on to the Mediterranean Conference Centre.

A monument to mark the summit will be inaugurated opposite Castille.
