It is difficult to believe this picture was taken in one of Malta's prime tourist locations, the seafront at Balluta Bay, as the island enters the busy summer season. As if the dust is not bad enough, pedestrians have to navigate numerous unwelcome obstacles and then risk being run over by vehicles because they run out of pavement to walk along and are forced onto a section of road in which visibility for drivers is poor.
