The sun has broken out on the Granaries in Floriana, to applause by thousands of people waiting for the Papal Mass.
A group took the cue to sing Sunshine Raggae.
The granaries started filling from as early as 6 a.m.
The Pope left the Apostolic Nunciature in Rabat at 9.30 a.m., some 15 minutes behind schedule. He had been due on the granaries at 9.40 a.m.
Some of the 700 priests who will concelebrate with the Pope started walking in procession to the altar at 9.30. They walked past the painting of Our Lady Ta' Pinu, brought over from its Sanctuary in Gozo.
The Mass starts at 10.
