A 25-year-old San Gwann man was yesterday given a two-year jail term suspended for four years for defiling a 14-year-old girl in a car.

Diego Agius pleaded guilty to defiling the minor, offending public morals, driving a car with an expired road licence, failing to inform the authorities of a car transfer within the stipulated time and installing tinted windows in the car.

Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna also fined Agius Lm30 and ordered him to transfer the car onto his name within a month.

Police Inspectors Mario Tonna and Louise Vella prosecuted.
