An Mqabba man was yesterday given a two-year jail term suspended for a year for assaulting and slightly injuring two police officers.

Magistrate Saviour Demicoli found Albert Vella guilty of assaulting and injuring PC Brian Seychell and PS Silvio Magro on May 30. He bound Vella, 29, not to approach the two officers against a Lm100 fine in default.

Police Inspector Joseph Agius prosecuted.
