A 20-year-old man was yesterday given a two-year jail term suspended for three years for breaking into three cars last year.

Clive Micallef, of St Paul's Bay, pleaded guilty to breaking into two cars belonging to Arthur Borg and Matthew Axiaq and stealing their car stereos on November 3, 2003 and breaking into Roderick Farrugia's car with the intention to steal his car stereo on December 2, 2003.

He also admitted to damaging the three cars.

Police Inspector Paul Bond prosecuted.
