An Iklin shop owner was yesterday given a one-year jail term suspended for four years for circulating pirate computer software from his shop.
Mario Scerri, 34, of l-Ibrag, pleaded guilty to the possession of pirate software and its circulation to the detriment of Microsoft Corporation, represented in Malta by the law firm Mamo TCV Advocates.
The pirate software was confiscated and Scerri was ordered to pay police expenses.
Police Inspector Bernard Zarb prosecuted.
