Synchro Knights celebrate international success in Poland
Competition brought together artistic swimming clubs from European countries
The Maltese artistic swimming club Synchro Knights has returned to Malta following a successful participation in the first edition of the Spring Harmony International Meet held in Łódź, Poland, between March 6 and 8.
The international competition brought together artistic swimming clubs from several European countries, providing young athletes with the opportunity to perform on an international stage and gain valuable competitive experience.
Representing Malta, Synchro Knights participated in several disciplines including solo, duet and team routines, with a delegation of 21 athletes competing across different age categories.
The club achieved strong results throughout the competition. The 12 & Under team secured the second place in the ‘Team Free Routine’, while the 13-15 team earned third place in their ‘Team Free Routine’. In the Junior category, Emily Ruggier delivered an outstanding performance to claim second place in the ‘Junior Solo Technical’ event.
The athletes were supported by artistic and technical coordinator Laura Marquez Urrego together with team coaches Hailey Ellul and Alessia Cardona Taliana. Coach and athlete Valentina Marchi was also present at the competition, serving as one of the official technical controllers, alongside Maltese coach Jeremy Farrugia who was serving as a judge.

Synchro Knights congratulated the organisers, the Harmonia Foundation, for the successful launch of this promising new competition, and extended special thanks to Monika Szczesniak for the invitation and for her dedication and hard work in bringing the event to life.
Speaking after the event, club president Claire Blake praised the dedication and determination shown by the athletes and coaches. Months of preparation and training went into the routines presented in Poland, and the results reflect the commitment of both the swimmers and coaches to continually raise the standard of artistic swimming in Malta.
Beyond the podium finishes, the competition also provided invaluable experience for the young athletes. Competing alongside teams from different countries allowed the swimmers to develop their skills, build confidence and experience the atmosphere of an international artistic swimming event.
Synchro Knights provides training in artistic swimming and competitive opportunities for athletes from a young age while promoting the sport both locally and internationally.
The club now looks ahead to upcoming competitions as the athletes continue their training and preparation for the fourth Artistic Swimming Open National Championships, taking place from April 8 to 12 in Victoria.
