Nazzareno Bonnizi, the independent candidate who will contest the general election under the banner of Ta l-Ajkla said this morning that his mass meeting in Zabbar this Saturday will be Malta's biggest ever.
He said on TVAM that he expected 250,000 to turn up, using 400 buses in Malta and 55 in Gozo. The number of people, he said, would stretch from Zabbar to Fgura.
In his interview he criticised the fact that because of the general election, only two of Malta's six MEPs are currently working in Brussels.
He suggested that unemployed benefit should be doubled but the unemployed should then be put to work.
He also reiterated that if he becomes king-maker after the general election, he would lead a government with the PN for two-and-a-helf years and an equal period with the Labour Party.
Mr Bonnici repeated his proposal to build a power station using seawater, although he admitted it would need a miracle.
He called on supporters not to believe the leaders of the major political parties, and for the prime minister to resign because of the hardship caused, particularly with the high power bills.
