Ethics will be taught in nearly all colleges as from September, Education Minister Evarist Bartolo has said.

He said the Ethics pilot project in five schools, in Primary Years 1, 2 and 3 and Secondary Years Form 1, 2 and 3 will continue in the same schools and increase by one year until the first students reach SEC level.

As from September 2016, Ethics will be taught in an increased number of primary and secondary schools including Gozo College Middle School, Primary School Victoria, Maria Regina College Secondary Schools, Mosta A and Mellieha; St Benedict College Secondary/Middle School and Birzebugia, Safi and Zurrieq Primary; St Clare College Pembroke and St Julians Primary; St Gorg Preca College Secondary and Middle schools; St Ignatius College Secondary School Handaq; St Nicholas College Middle/Secondary School; St Theresa College, Birkirkara, Lija and Msida Primary schools; St Thomas More College Middle/Secondary School.

"Ethics will be taught in nearly all colleges as from September 2016. The choice of schools in this initial phase of introducing the subject depends upon a number of factors, including the request by Head of School, requests by parents and the availability of trained teachers," Mr Bartolo said.
