Floriana is the latest Premier League team to opt for a coaching change after Giovanni Tedesco has left his post as coach of the Greens.
His departure comes a day after Floriana were dumped out by Naxxar Lions in the third round of the FA Trophy, a competition which the Greens had claimed only last year.
Tedesco, who was in charge of Floriana for the second time in his short career as a manager, admitted that it was time he left his role as a coach for the sake of both parties.
"In my opinion, this is the right move," Tedesco said to Times of Malta.
"In football, timing is important and I feel that I have to move on from this experience right now.
"I am really grateful for Floriana for providing me the opportunity to coach them twice and also to Maltese football for having served me as a platform where I could nurture my coaching skills."
