A 17-year-old boy was yesterday charged with the simple possession of cannabis resin and with trafficking in heroin.

The teenager, of Qormi, was remanded in custody after he pleaded not guilty to the possession of cannabis, the possession of heroin with the intent to sell it and to trafficking in heroin on and before Thursday.

Magistrate Miriam Hayman presided over the arraignment.

Police Inspector Dennis Theuma prosecuted.

Lawyer Vincent Galea appeared for the teenager.
