A Libyan teenager was yesterday charged with stealing a bag from an English woman in Sliema on Saturday.

The 17-year-old pleaded not guilty to snatching Christine Finlayson's bag and slightly injuring Davide Boschetti. He also pleaded not guilty to supplying the police with false information. Magistrate Michael Mallia ordered that the teenager be remanded in custody.

Police Inspector Stephen Gatt prosecuted.
