Telephone directory

I would like to ventilate my opinion regarding Maltacom's telephone directory. The reason the directory has not been published surely is not to economise or prevent waste as the directories are supposed to be collected and recycled. What Maltacom should do is to stop publishing the directory once and for all, employ more decent and prudent phone operators, remove the red tape involved in ex-directory procedures, and instruct them to give full particulars - name, surname, address, post code and telephone number - to clients who phone to enquire.

Better still and cheaper, Maltacom should implement an electronic answering machine just like their faults one.

While I am at it, instead of wasting money and resources, can the yellow, green or pink pages and, especially, the post code directory not be incorporated in the "service" run by the high- profit-making company that, incidentally, also has a monopoly (hopefully not for long) on the archipelago?
