Top seed and world number one Justine Henin has been bounced out of the Australian Open quarter-finals, thumped 6-4 6-0 by Maria Sharapova. The Russian fifth seed took the game to her Belgian opponent from the start, pummelling heavy groundstrokes to the corners while Henin scuttled from side to side. Sharapova sealed the first set in a fraction over an hour and raced through the hapless top seed in the second to book a semi-final with Serena Williams's conqueror Jelena Jankovic.
