A terrorist attack on a seminar in the southern Indian city of Bangalore was allegedly averted after the assailant got stuck in the city's legendary traffic jams.
The 2005 attack was meant to coincide with an attack on the city's Institute of Science in which a professor was killed and four other were injured.
But according to a man picked up by Bangalore police last week, the plan to also attack the Institute of Management was foiled when a seminar there ended before the terrorist attacker could make it to the venue.
Bangalore's traffic woes are renowned across India, with multiple memes and satirical programmes making fun of the city's convoluted system of one-way streets and roads prohibiting right turns.
The city's vehicle population has grown by more than 6,000 per cent over the past four decades.
