On January 23, I left Malta on a family visit to Gaza through Egypt. Two days later, riots broke out in Egypt and the cross border with Gaza was closed. This created a big problem for me to return to Malta as planned.

We contacted the Ambassador of Malta in Tel Aviv Abraham Borg for help in seeking permission from the authority in Tel Aviv to pass through Israeli borders back to Malta.

Mr Borg showed great interest and immediately started to contact competent authorities in Israel to obtain the necessary permission. I therefore wish to extend my heartfelt thanks to him for his loyalty and hard work. He always kept in touch with my family in Malta, informing them daily of any developments.

Thank you Mr Borg, keep it up and may God bless you.
