Illustration showing “propaganda” images from the 1641 rising by Catholic rebels of an alleged massacre of Protestants during the Irish rebellion known as the Depositions, taken from James Cranford The Teares of Ireland (London 1642), are on display to the public in Dublin.

The exhibition hopes to raise awareness about one of the most bloody and traumatic moments in Irish history – the 1641 Rebellion. The exhibition was opened by President Mary McAleese in Trinity College Long Room, Old Library, Dublin.
