Why do some of our leading statesmen (for example, our President) still say: "The Cold War is gone and times have changed", adding "and there's only one superpower now"?

Well, myself and others (common people) will further say "yes, at the moment we have one superpower (the US) surrounded by poodles and yesmen".

In a recent interview on television, the President was wrong to hint that our Constitution needs a few changes regarding the neutrality clause.

The Cold War will remain a threat to neutral Malta because in 10 years' time Russia will regain its strength and China, India and North Korea will also grow stronger - and America and Britain will become more warlike.

Also, remember how President George Bush ignored the United Nations' resolutions etc. and still invaded Iraq and achieved nothing at all. It is worse than the Vietnam War. What will our President say then if, God forbid, a nuclear warship explodes in our harbour? (It could happen you know.) Then would he blame this disaster on a tsunami calamity?

Long live the Republic of Malta. Long live our neutrality. And let us stop nuclear warships from entering our ports as soon as possible.
