The European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund is the EU's agricultural fund. This fund is divided into two. The guidance section of the EAGGF finances rural development measures and aid to farmers. On the other hand, the guarantee section of this fund supports the common agricultural policy, which is now at the centre of a controversial reform proposal.

Examples of EAGGF projects to support rural development include the creation of an equestrian event in Ireland to promote tourism in rural areas. The project cost: E6.25 million with the EU paying E2.5 million
