This October, the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta will echo with the unforgettable melodies of one of the world’s most celebrated film composers, Ennio Morricone. For one night only, on Sunday, October 26, audiences will be transported through sound and story as the all-female Italian orchestra Le Muse takes the stage under the direction of Maestro Andrea Albertini.
The programme honours the cinematic genius of Morricone.Renowned for their graceful interpretation of Italian musical heritage, Le Muse brings to Malta a concert that promises not only musical excellence but also emotional immersion. Adding further poignancy to the evening is the appearance of soprano Susanna Rigacci, a long-time collaborator of Morricone. Her voice, soaring and expressive, will bring pieces like Gabriel’s Oboe to life in a way few others can.
As a special highlight for the Maltese audience, local vocalist Dorothy Bezzina will join the ensemble as a guest performer. Known for her commanding stage presence and versatile vocal style, Bezzina brings a local voice to this internationally-acclaimed production. Her contribution adds a personal and cultural touch that bridges Italian artistry with Maltese musical talent.
Complementing the orchestra’s performance will be curated video projections and spoken reflections. These elements create a multisensory experience that goes beyond a traditional concert.
