A 19-year-old Qrendi man was yesterday charged with complicity in burgling two clubs last year.

Louis Ronayne pleaded not guilty to stealing over Lm100 in cash and items, including alcohol and cigarettes, from the Mqabba football club on the night of March 5-6, 2001 and from Sta Marija Club, in Qrendi on the night of November 19-20, 2001, to the detriment of Donald Bonnici and William Buhagiar respectively.

He also pleaded not guilty to causing over Lm50 damage to both clubs, complicity in the burglaries and handling stolen property.

Police Inspectors David Saliba and Joseph Agius prosecuted.
