Fabrizio Faniello is back with his best album to date, according to top German critics who have had a preview of the Maltese pop artist’s latest album, No Surrender.

The 13-track album, which went on sale last week in Malta ahead of a May 10 international release date, was recorded in four countries – Malta, Sweden, Italy and Germany – and features songs written by renowned international songwriters such as Mary Susan Applegate, Gary Barlow, Johan Bejerholm, Johan Stentorp and Apoy.

Despite the fact that Faniello’s career had been on hold for some time, his 2010 ‘comeback’ single I No Can Do was received very positively in Europe, spending a record-breaking 10 weeks at the top of the Eurovision Top 20 Chart.

The video for the single also won the Best Video of the Year category at the Eurovisionontop.com 2011 polls, in which Faniello also placed second in the Best Male Artist of the Year category.

Last December, during a tour in Asian territories that included various performances in major TV shows, Faniello appeared and performed at the 2010 Nagaswara Music Awards, where he received a Special Ambassador of Music Award of Indonesia, where he also reached the number 1 position in the music download charts.

His participation at this year’s Eurovision Malta song festival, where he placed fourth with No Surrender, saw Faniello regain his position as one of the best-loved pop artists on the island, and his European profile isn’t doing too badly either.

No Surrender was released as a single in Europe at the end of March and was the highest new entry in the German DJ Top 100 Charts in the week of its release.
