The College of Jazz Dance, now in its 13th year, will be inaugurating the extension at its premises in San Gwann next month.

The premises now include a third studio, new changing rooms for boys and girls, a staff room, an office and a student area.

Catherine Strawbridge and Anna Galea have been appointed additional dance tutors and Vivienne Fielding Refalo will be giving courses in choreography.

College teacher Alison Bird was recently awarded the Salamonaen Bursary by the Cecchetti Faculty of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing in recognition of the high standard she had attained.

Some college students have also achieved breakthroughs.

Rebecca Borg has been accepted at the Kate Simmons Dance College in Manchester for a year, and Jake Sacco has been offered places at two vocational schools in England.

Roberta Agius and Mary Ann Bugeja Viani have been awarded a six-month scholarship at the London Studio Centre.

The YADA Dance Company, part of the college, will be performing in India for three weeks commencing January 10, 2003.
