The police arrested three people in connection with an assault and robbery in Żurrieq on Friday that left a jeweller fighting for his life.

The 67-year-old Fgura man was found tied up and injured behind a locked door by police officers answering a call about a disturbance at a jewellery shop on Triq Dun Ġużepp Żammit in Żurrieq.

On Monday, the police said a 29-year-old woman, and two men and 26 and 37 were arrested on Sunday.

The three were found in an uninhabited Sliema residence. 

Police investigation and a magisterial inquiry are ongoing.
