A total of 104 nominations were filed by election candidates today, the first of three days of nominations.

Among them were Alfred Sant, leader of the Labour Party, Harry Vassallo, leader of Alternattiva Demokratika and Josie Muscat, leader of Azzjoni Nazzjonali.

The nominations included three former PN candidates now standing with other parties - Marlene Pullicino is standing with the Labour Party, Carmel Caccopardo has joined Alternattiva and Josie Muscat,a former MP, is now at the head of Azzjoni Nazzjonali.

The first nomination was filed by Francis Agius, Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture. An independent candidate, John Pace, filed to contest on the first district.
