Three hikers rescued after becoming stranded near Ġnejna cave

Joint rescue operation brings all three safely back to shore

Three hikers had to be rescued  by the Civil Protection Department and the Armed Forces of Malta after becoming stranded during a trekking expedition in Ġnejna.

The CPD launched a coordinated rescue operation involving the AFM after being alerted that three people needed assistance at Ta’ Marija Cave in Ġnejna.

Rescue teams from Fire Stations 3, 5, 7 and 8 were dispatched to the scene.

All three people were successfully located and brought safely back to land, the CPD said.
