Birkirkara left-back Joseph Zerafa was handed a three-match ban following his late sending-off in his team’s 1-0 FA Trophy win over Valletta on Wednesday.

Zerafa, who was dismissed by referee Mario Apap for lashing out at Valletta’s Romeu Romao in the dying stages, must serve his ban in the Trophy, meaning that he will be available for tomorrow’s league match against Sliema Wanderers.

Hibernians duo Marcelo Dias and Andrei Agius have also been suspended after both saw red in the 2-1 FA Trophy defeat to Pembroke Athleta.

As the Paolites have been eliminated from the cup, Dias, who was given a two-match ban for elbowing Gustavo Villalobos, and Agius, banned for one game after being sent off for blocking the ball with hands, must serve their suspensions in the league.

Pembroke midfielder Paltemio Barbetti received a one-match ban after being dismissed for two yellow cards in the closing minutes of Wednesday’s 2-1 win over Hibernians.

The other two players to receive a one-match ban following the FA Trophy fourth round games in midweek are Pietà Hotspurs’ Dylan Agius and Erjon Beu, of Lija Athletic.
