The third edition of the Three Palaces Festival was launched yesterday at Verdala Palace.

Justice Minister Owen Bonnici said that the event aimed to promote the three presidential palaces through art, bringing together local and foreign musicians.

It served as an international platform for upcoming musicians, he added.

The School of Performing Arts’ teens and junior company will give a concert during which they will interpret musical numbers from Mary Poppins, Cats and Les Miserables accompanied by pianist Julian Dyson.

Soprano Francesca Aqui-lina and mezzo soprano Clare Ghigo will also perform, accompanied by pianists Joanne Camilleri and Geoffrey Tanti and tenor Nico Darmanin. Original works by Jean Marc Fabri, 15, will be interpreted by children.

Free master classes will be offered during the festival.
