Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti ended the year with a bang yesterday with the launch of three publications at its premises in Valletta.
The first publication is the third in Giovanni Bonello's successful series of 'Histories of Malta - Version and Diversions'.
The second is 'Last Bastion - Sketches of the Maltese Islands' by Eric Brockman. The new edition of the book, first launched in 1961, includes an index, new photographs and a preface by Brockman's daughter.
Finally, Heritage Malta Superintendent Anthony Pace, and editor of 'Maltese Prehistoric Art 5,000 - 2,500 BC' spoke about the reasons which led Patrimonju to reprint the sought-after book.
Archaeology has proved to be a popular subject with fans of Melitensia as well as with visitors.
Present for yesterday's launch were, among others, Patrimonju chairman Maurice de Giorgio, treasurer Joseph Buttigieg, and secretary Marguerite Critien.
All three books are on sale at the Book Fair and leading booksellers.
FPM was set up in 1992 as a non-profit making organisation that works for the promotion and dissemination of Maltese cultural heritage.
Patrimonju is currently occupied with the undertaking of a long-term project, the restoration and restructuring of Palazzo Falson in Mdina.
One of the highlights of the foundation was the holding of a major exhibition of antique furniture at St James Cavalier.
