A Romanian man and woman and a Tunisian man were yesterday given a six-month jail term suspended for a year for being in Malta illegally.

Maricica and Petru Niga, 26 and 27, and Youssef Matoug pleaded guilty to being in Malta without leave from the immigration authorities.

They will be deported.

Police Inspector Neville Xuereb prosecuted.
