Joanna Pisani, the 21-year old sister of Britain's Next Top Model 2010 winner, Tiffany, is being urged to take part in next year's series, timesofmalta.com learnt.

Ms Pisani, who went up to London to support her sister in the final live show, was approached after the show by BNTM producers and ‘encouraged' to apply for the upcoming series. "She was very pleased about that," said Carina Camilleri Tiffany's local modelling agent.

Speaking to timesofmalta.com on her return to Malta, Ms Camilleri, said that the atmosphere in the studio during the final moments of the contest on Monday was very charged.

When asked whether she felt that show host Elle Macpherson had a preference for British girl Alishia White, she said: "I asked Elle a direct question and she didn't give me that impression at all."

She said that supermodel Elle Machpherson was full of praise for Tiffany's versatility. "She was really impressed by how hard she works. But I wasn't surprised - she's always been like that."

Ms Camilleri said that Tiffany's future in modelling looks bright: "To make it big in modelling you have to leave the island, but that was always what Tiffany had in mind and she succeeded."

In reaction to some claims that Malta should stage its own version of Malta's Next Top Model rather than have aspiring models take part in the British series, she said: "First off, Tiffany was eligible because her mother is half-British. Secondly, well, maybe we'll soon be having our own MNTM, we'll see."
