Timeshare victim (1)
I hope Robert Wood's wife is now enjoying good health (January 29). As sorry and sympathetic as I am towards his timeshare experience, which I do not condone if anything illegal has taken place, I disagree with his judgment of the Maltese moral fibre.
I hope Robert Wood's wife is now enjoying good health (January 29). As sorry and sympathetic as I am towards his timeshare experience, which I do not condone if anything illegal has taken place, I disagree with his judgment of the Maltese moral fibre. A whole nation cannot be tarred with the same brush. I assume Mr Wood holds a managerial position and has his workers' welfare at heart, by putting them right about timeshare contracts which he calls rip-offs.
It does surprise me that a man in his position can be so gullible as to be taken in by a timeshare shark. It seems Mr Wood is very hurt judging from his patronising letter and intended revenge by spreading bad publicity among his workers. Alas, he cannot blame a whole nation for his self-professed stupidity in signing a contract, which he obviously did not read or understand, hence his mistake. It is a well-known fact that the minority always spoiled the majority. The fact is that one penny does not make a pound and the same goes for a nation.
It is Mr Wood's prerogative whether he comes to Malta again, but surely a mistake by him ought not to deprive him of his previous pleasures on his earlier visits and he has no need to feel sad about not ever visiting again. It is human to err, but to blame one's mistake on a nation is not rational and neither is cutting off one's nose to spite one's face.
