I therefore invite your readers to make out what they will from the following gem of classical Orwellian newspeak (January 1): "Finance Minister John Dalli said the decision to award the contract (of the Mater Dei Hospital supplies tender) to the chosen company was not a political one and the hospital project had never been and was still not part of the Italian financial protocol".
