The top stories in Malta's newspapers

The following are the top stories in Malta's newspapers on Wednesday. 

Times of Malta leads with the PN election promise to set up a 'petrol station in the middle of the Mediterranean, serving hundreds of ships and creating a new economic activity for Malta.  It also gives prominence to the start of the Sliema-Buġibba-Gozo fast ferry service.

MaltaToday and the Malta Independent also give prominence to the new ferry service and the PN's promised offshore bunkering facility.

MaltaToday also says that Robert Abela has defended the way he walked out of the Auberge de Castille to address a PL activity from the steps, saying he had been working before the event. 

l-orizzont tops its front page with criticism by Joseph Muscat of the PN's proposal to invest heavily in solar energy to offset power generation costs and reduce tariffs.  It too gives prominence to the new ferry service. 

In-Nazzjon leads with remarks by PN leader Alex Borg that the vote on May 30 will determine the next five years, individually and for the country.
