The top stories in Malta's newspapers

The following are the top stories in Malta's newspapers on Wednesday. 

Times of Malta and the other newspapers feature the death of a worker who was trapped in the machinery of a refuse truck in Qormi. 

In other stories, Times of Malta says 16 people and companies have paid fines to avoid criminal charges. It also reports that former Labour general secretary and treasurer Jimmy Magro has had a jail sentence in a corruption case confirmed on appeal. 

The Malta Independent says the Labour Party has denounced remarks it said were made by PN leader Alex Borg that Malta is unaffected by the Iran war. 

l-orizzont gives prominence to a visit to the headquarters of the General Workers' Union by Archbishop Scicluna.
