The top stories in Malta's newspapers

These are the leading stories making front-page headlines in Malta this Tuesday.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Times of Malta, The Malta Independent, L-Orizzont and In-Nazzjon on Tuesday all lead with stories about the upcoming general election, which will be held on May 30.

Times of Malta, The Malta Independent and L-Orizzont lead with the Prime Minister’s election announcement yesterday. 

The Malta Independent also teases stories about calls for stronger regulations following recent scrapyard fires, the introduction of weight loss drugs to the public health system and an ongoing trial about a stabbing in Marsalforn.  

In-Nazzjon also gives weight to Opposition Leader Alex Borg’s speech following news of the election, while advertising a party gathering outside its Pietà headquarters at 6pm today.
