The following are the top stories in Malta's newspapers.

Times of Malta leads with a jury unanimously finding a woman guilty of murdering her partner and filing a false report to police, in a stabbing at a Mellieħa residence in 2021. Filippino national Mayumi Santos Patacsil is expected to be sentenced Thursday.

The newspaper also gives prominence to Times of Malta being hit by a ‘gagging’ order after sending questions to e-money firm Papaya, preventing it from publishing an article about the company.

The Malta Independent leads with news that plans to build an elderly home and 203 new residential units on part of the old Birżebbuġa gas plant site are set to be approved by the Planning Authority.

It also gives prominence to the guilty verdict handed down to Mayumi Santos Patacsil.

In-Nazzjon leads with the unanimous guilty verdict in the Mellieħa murder trial, while also calling for the transport minister to explain why two KM Malta Airlines cabin crew members were reportedly allowed on a flight despite failing a drugs and alcohol test.

It also reports on a court ruling there is enough evidence for former Labour Party general secretary Jimmy Magro to be placed under a bill of indictment for alleged fraud and misuse of EU funds.

l-orizzont leads with the murder trial guilty verdict, while also giving prominence to a draft bill in Parliament to crack down on tax evasion and a new policy at Mater Dei aimed at escalating critical care to preserve patients’ organ health.
